This is my first attempt at an environment in UDK. I made this technically at the beginning of the semester. I was holding out because I thought that there would be more.....but nah, I ended up just helping with lighting and stuff on other projects so this is the only one I did on my own XP lol.
lol thanks :3 wait you're an undergrad student right? they're teaching UDK to you?? wow, sam houston was way far behind cuz i never got the chance to work in it during undergrad XP
Definitely! That’s what the ATEC 3365 Virtual Environments class is all about. I’m not sure if others teach it or not, but I had Phill. The class goes through a lot of basics in 3 weeks, then after that you hit the ground running with two major team projects to build environments.
no one else teaches right now but it's cool that they made the class its own separate entity now, rather than it being under the "digital art" banner. i definitely plan on taking 6 more credits of it but i couldn't pass up the opportunity to take the mocap class and interactive narrative since they're offering them for the fall this time around. yeah i really was fast paced but given the roles that i was playing through both major projects, i was able to survive and i think i should be ok when i go through the class the next two times
are you asking what UDK is? it the unreal development kit. this piece i did is what's called a static mesh environment. i'm a noob so i only have low level knowledge of the software so i made a simple mayan temple scene XP
