@01:08It looks nice, but the character animation itself could be much better. The chars look very stiff and the movements don't flow naturally. I don't think you should use this as a reel to candidate to an animation job.

does it make any difference that i'm not trying be an animator, and more of a lighting/ rendering artist? i was only showing the animation to put the pictures into context. or should i just eliminate the animation altogether? i'm not sure what to do because i'm worried that if i get rid of them that it would just be a typical slideshow.

I hope you didn't get me wrong.In my opinion all the rest is pretty good and you could use it as part of your portfolio to get a lighting/rendering job. I think you should get someone to make the animation for you though or perhaps you should delve a bit more into animation and make it even better yourself. That sure will feel good

. Anyway, i really think you're a good 3d artist and just commented your reel because i though it would help you.

oh no i knew you were helping, and i'm glad you liked the lighting stuff ^^ ! in fact i was actually thinking about getting someone to do some animation for this project me as well. unfortunately since all the animators this semester wanted to do their own thing, i had to do it myself -_-; more than likely i'm going to have to just find free models online and get better at the animation myself over the summer so that way i won't be unprepared if others can't help me. thanks for input dude

@01:08Nice but the exposure seems to be a lil too much.. I mean the lights are pretty sharp in all the scenes except 1 maybe.
