I just got back home from a PHENOMENAL cruise vacation. This picture was taken on Isle Roatan off the coast of Honduras. I always love these shots of light that poke through leaves :3

I love the lens flare effect, it really adds to the dreamy effect of this photo. The leaves of the trees are spectacular and deep.

However, I believe this was declined due to the overexposed sun. You can still take a really awesome picture with this type of photography, but it is best to underexpose the sun. However, this will cause the trees to lose their colors and become completely black. For this reason, it is best to use a polarizer lenses that will filter the sun to a lesser extent. This will also help protect your camera from heating the inside compartments of your camera with direct light exposure.

Doing this will also lower the white balance and increase contrast, making the overall photo pop. :D Beautiful, I bet you had a lot of fun on the cruise!
